sports:Fans applaud Super Eagles’ victory against Congo

Football enthusiasts in Kwara on Saturday applauded the excellent performance of the Super Eagles of Nigeria against their Congolese counterparts in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

They called for a repeat of the good outing in their last qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South African at home in Uyo on Wednesday.

The Eagles came back from their poor performance in the first half to defeat their hosts 2-0 in a make-or-mar match amidst tension in Brazzaville, the Congolese capital.

“Nigeria should put up a similar excellent performance against South Africa because it is not yet over until it is finally over,’’ he told NAN.

He also commended Stephen Keshi, the Eagles’ Head Coach, for coming on top of the game in the second stanza after the Congolese dominance in the first 45 minutes.

Also, Mr Abdulrasak Rafiu, a soccer fan, noted that if Eagles could defeat South Africa on Wednesday, Nigeria could qualify and defend the trophy they won in South Africa in 2013.
