Boko Haram killed 29 in Borno community – Rep

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Hawul/Askira-Uba Constituency of Borno State, Mr. Jubrin Satumari, on Tuesday said terror group, Boko Haram, launched an attack on Dille and its surrounding villages in Askira-Uba Local Government Area on Monday, killing no fewer than 29 persons.
Satumari said this while speaking with journalists on the telephone on Tuesday.
The lawmaker said, “It was really a sad day for me to learn that there were renewed attacks in my constituency in some parts of Borno State and the North-East by the insurgents. People are being killed in cold blood. Churches, mosques, shops and residential houses were destroyed; it is very unfortunate.”
He described recent attacks on Dille, his hometown, as callous, barbaric and unjustifiable, calling on security agencies in the troubled state to step up surveillance on the areas.
Satumari urged the people of the area to remain very vigilant about happenings in their areas and report any suspicious persons or movements to the nearest security point or jurisdiction.
He added, “I am much worried over the spate of killings by suspected insurgents in my constituency. I have pleaded with security authorities, particularly the military, to deploy troops in most of the affected villages to safeguard my people’s lives and property, but all my cries have fallen on deaf ears as there is no security presence in my constituency yet.

“I still want to assure my people that we are doing everything possible to see that military troops are deployed immediately.”
A member of one of the attacked communities, Simon Emmanuel, who claimed he escaped being killed by the insurgents, revealed that the incident took place at about 1pm on Monday when the terrorists, who came in large numbers, stormed Dille and killed no fewer than 29 persons and burnt several houses.
Dille, a village in the Southern part of Borno State, is predominantly a Christian community that had witnessed series of deadly insurgency attacks in recent past.
