NATFORCE, therefore, warned that the routes were currently being used to smuggle dangerous weapons into the country.
The Director-General of NATFORCE, Mr. Emmanuel Osita Okereke, who expressed this concern during an interview with journalists in Abuja, however, assured that his organization was willing to partner with security operatives in the country in protecting the borders.
As regards the current security challenges ravaging parts of the North East, the DG urged President Goodluck Jonathan to check the allegiance of his service chiefs and advisers.
This was as he alleged that security chiefs and those advising the president on security matters may have been sabotaging his resolve to stamp out terrorism in the area.
