Nigerian doctors suspend strike to help tackle Ebola

Public doctors in Nigeria today August 7th called off their 5-week old strike to help with the fight against the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria.

In a statement issued by the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, the doctors listed “the incursion of Ebola into Nigeria” as a main reason for suspending the strike.

Just yesterday, the Lagos state government through the Commissioner for Health, Dr Idris Jide, had appealed to striking doctors to call of their strike so as to help contain the spread of the virus.dawarinaija.blogspot.com
