Out of the 1.6 million candidates that took the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board – JAMB examination, 231,000 scored 200 marks and above, including a physically challenged girl in Osun who wrote with her toes – she scored 219.
Imo state leads with the highest number of marks. The Supervising Minister of Education Ezenwo Wike spoke at the combined policy meeting on admissions into institutions of higher learning on the cut-offs.
JAMB maintains that the cut-off mark for 2014 admissions into universities is 180, while for colleges of education and polytechnics, it is 150.
